Yup. When some people attempt to pass off hatred and prejudice as fighting for the vulnerable it creates literal hatred in the streets. Both the left and right wing extremes do this.
History shows that violence will ultimately solve it one way or the other when this sort of hate and division grows. William Seward called the Civil War an irrepressible conflict. We have been there before.
People should not be too assured it will be their side that will win. Common sense Allies tend to be created from the grey middle not the extremes. The problem is the extremes are all most people see on the news.
Some things from our history should be torn down, just as some beliefs should be called evil, but there are some things that some may find offensive that should just be left alone. When you start policing what people think and say you create something like INGSOC from 1984.
