Very true. It recently happened in my town. They tossed out the low income government housing that had a view of the water, and turned it into rich people lots. There used to be a rich black history there and our downtown. It was clean and mostly safe. Now it is owned by lawyers, doctors, and other upper crust white people who bought up the land, raised taxes and effectively stole what was left from the rest who had been there for a century. Chuck Eye Steaks used to be $6.50 for two. Now they are $15.00. Poor folks knew they tasted better than Ribeye. Rich folk found out, now they are all sold out at the local grocery store before they ever make it to the public. Another great article Michelle.
