This is a well written article The problem with Christianity as it has existed in the West, especially in America is it is a grift. A business model to employ pastors, their families, and their friends. It is also a political influence, but in the wrong way.

Its history is war, slavery, colonialism, and its followers make excuses for those things rather than just admitting they were wrong and their church was partially responsible.

If they ever start treating organized churches like the businesses they are and get rid of the tax exempt status as they should, it will be over for them. In my view that is coming.

The support of Trump by most Christians did not help as rather than indifference to Christianity more now feel hate. The only thing the Christian Right and Republicans have left is to support force and some form of Fascism. They have made an enemy of compromise.
