There Are No Good Cops In An Evil System

Why we continue to see murder and brutality from the police

I do not hate cops, but I do not trust any of them with my life or those of my children. I would like to believe most want to do good, but today, as a law abiding citizen, I am mostly afraid of them. Most cops may be good people, but they work in a system that allows for them to be bad, and then protects them when they step out of line. Do we as citizens believe the state cannot afford to hire, train, and pay degreed police officers with training in defusing violence and human psychology as well as enforcing the law?

Our government has an endless amount of our tax dollars to bail out huge corporations whenever the vampiric wealthy in this country need to feed. They have an endless supply of money when asking tax payers to pay for another war for profit. Why is there not enough money to have a better police force? Most of the support for the police comes from right leaning middle class white people and Evangelicals who have traditionally seen the police as protecting their assets. These people see justice in America as authoritarian.

When a cop kills, and everyone can clearly see the cop was a murderous jackboot, like the one who slew George Floyd, some will still make excuses about past criminal records or past crimes of the…
