I do not disagree that the abolition of slavery was not the main reason of the war. I did not contend the abolition of slavery was the reason for the war, only slavery itself was because slavery represented money and power. American white supremacist would never fight a war with that sort of death and destruction to help black people or because they cared about humanity.
