Nice response, Penguin. When I say scrap it and start over, I am definitely not suggesting anything akin to the red terror, Nazism, or any other totalitarian type of thing. I believe we should scrap the Constitution, write another better one with more inclusive language codified within its pages.

I believe in Democratic principles and law, but they do need to be tempered by logic and common sense. Not everyone gets to have their way. Some cultures are the antithesis of civilization such as white supremacy, and other cultures who have treated women, LGBTQ, minorities etc unfairly. Good laws implemented by a society bent on more equity with a new Constitution with no ties to slavery and our past would go a long way.

The problem I see with some on the extreme left is they believe to defeat the right, they have to implement right wing authoritarianism. We read about this same destructive thinking in the Reign of Terror in France. The idea of, Let us form a totalitarian regime until we oust all the evil people, then we will return to something more egalitarian. It never works this way.
