The Invasion should be condemned

America is right to publically condemn, and help apply pressure on, Putin for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is an aggressive act done by a government that is known to take such actions to further its own interest, and a leader whose brutality against his enemies is well documented. The thing is, based on reading the last few years, America should have also condemned the Zelenskyy regime’s actions in the Donbas as well as his own intimidation of his opposition. Zelenskyy ran for office on stopping the violence in the Donbas but has not only failed or not tried.

My gripe on America’s involvement in this conflict is not in the condemnation of Putin’s invasion, but in 40 Billion American dollars going to the government of Ukraine that should be used to help its own hurting population and deteriorating infrastructure. America is backing a government that came to power from an overthrow backed by The United States, not a government that came to power by a vote.
