It does need to be broken into pieces and defanged from any government involvement, but it does not need to reassembled. While we are at it, no, atheist or agnostics cannot be allies with Progressive Christians because there is no such thing. Kind of like Judaeo-Christianity, it is an oxymoron. The fact is, what many call Progressive Christians might as well not be Christian at all because they have to ignored or disbelieve all the insanity written in the book Christians call god's word.
