I used to run in those circles, and I used to hear this all the time. The man has a 15 million dollar home from fleecing the flock that his books contain some spiritual truth which they do not. It is a grift. He does not even believe the Bible he sometimes quotes from.

He is a false prophet by Christianity’s own Bible's standards. All churches are businesses, and all pastors, priest, etc make their living as professional beggars who use fear or promise of better times to take advantage of naive people. Those who get a second job, should get a full time job and preach for free as Jesus did. The Apostle Paul made tents.

Titus 1:11 nails it: "Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." Titus 1:11 kjv

They are the devils spoken of in their various Bible translations. I do not only believe this about churches, but most non-profits and most activist organizations which are themselves mostly glorified churches.

Churches are singled out because of what they claim to be with zero proof and the abuse many of them put on people. As for local charities and world missions, many of these are also part of the church or churches governing body like the SBC does with its various bodies. They have their own schools, legal firms, health care, missions, etc. I have been to other countries and seen how they handle feeding the poor etc also.

Churches should not be taxed to raise any Federal revenue. They should be taxed like a business because it is the right thing to do. I did a study not long ago on who got most of the PPP grants. Churches were part of the top 20% of feeding frenzy for the wealthy at the expense of smaller businesses the program was supposed to be designed for.

Many of those never even got to put in an application because the banks only saw large accounts first. I enjoyed the read. I will write a follow up to this on my page.
