I had a feeling this would come up. Certainly people can reflect on their values and change, but there should always be a question when those reflections are based on you as a personality or activist and your ideas are how you make your money.
In that case, more often than not, their views should not be taken seriously. Church is a great example. If those who preach in churches truly speak for an infinite being who will take care of all their needs, why do they continually beg for money?
I also have to question changing from extreme left wing to extreme right wing. It makes more sense to be a one time right wing voter and then through some circumstance gain more empathy. An activist is a person who is asking other people to support them financially because of the ideas they champion. What does is say about a person who was at one time championing empathy for money, when they adopt and opposite extreme and an ideology of war, and less empathy for money.
Not that the left is perfect by any stretch, but they are worlds apart in over all outlook and those who switch to the right wing is almost always the result of that personal finding financial success. I cannot image a thinking person supporting a grifter like Donald Trump as Candice Owens does. It is more than agreement on some things he said, but her championing him. Nothing about Candice Owens is genuine.
I appreciate your comment, Dono.
