He has the right to be a bigot, or attend a church with homophobic views, and the club has the right to not want to work with him because they may be associated with that thinking. It is not persecution. I have friends in Australia, they don't put up with that junk as they do in America.
While he and those like him are whining, they should remember there was a time when the church would insist on someone being fire for being LGBTQ, premarital sex, pregnancy out of wedlock. The church wouldn't even allow Thomas Paine's bones to be buried in a cemetery because he was critical of them.
