Every time Christians tell me how much they believe society is dying because they no longer have influence I think to myself, their influence cannot die quick enough. The Southern states during this period were like prison black Americans, women, children, and anyone stepping out of line. As for some who would say the economy was better then and a person could live on a single income, the poverty rate in the 50s was over 20%. So it was only better for upper cast white Capitalist.
