Great article.
I feel sorry of the teenager who perished. I feel for the rest who died in their humanity. I do not celebrate their death at all. However, they were warned by an expert, and the owner of the expedition is a Capitalist moron who fired the expert for daring to criticize the expedition.
Humans who have a quarter of a million dollars at their disposal to waste on play time for the wealthy as other humans are suffering it typical of late stage Capitalism. It is very hard for me to conjure up feeling for them.
None of those people would grieve for a single one of their workers or anyone else who died unless it cost them money. I am sorry, I am an empathetic person, but I have lost much of it for Billionaires. It is not hate. Simply indifference.
I wish I could be more like Cornell West in my thinking.
