I believe we are coming from two different places. In my view, warmongers talk about degree of slaughter and how twenty thousand dead is acceptable to achieve whatever the latest goal is, while you name the number of favored cultures or races is not.

Going even further there is an idea in the West that certain groups, religions, or cultures lives are worth less than others. That is why it was easy for the old hag Albright to say it was worth it, just as it was easy to say those civilians slaughtered by U.S. bombing in Vietnam was worth it to stop Communism.

Once labeled acceptable, worth it, or collateral the number of dead does not matter to world leaders whose chief aim is self interest. Not peace.
