Abortion is About Control, Not Life

There is the baby inside the womb, the mother, and the politics

Politically speaking, the issue of abortion has never been about the life of the child, but making women slaves to the state as they were in the past. If we look at how the loss of Roe vs Wade is playing out in states who have outlawed abortion, some of them are literally hunting women down they suspect are leaving the state to terminate their pregnancy. Some states have counties making it illegal to travel through their county seeking an abortion.

These states use spying, coercing friends to tell, neighbors, and churches to inform on women who are pregnant and traveling to states where abortion is legal. This sort of shit has nothing to do with preserving life, but has everything to do with men, backed by religion, using government, to try and turn the clock back on women’s rights. It is sickening to watch Evangelicals and Republicans yammer on an on about morals, freedom, pro-life, and big government coming to get them when it is their ideology that is actually the one carrying out intrusive government.

States like Texas are disallowing women like Kate Cox to make an exception and terminate her pregnancy. She is pregnant with a child that has a fatal deformity and is endangering her ability to have children in the future but Texas said no. This Makes liars out of the anti-abortionist who claim to support danger to the mother as an exception. As most women already know, the issue of abortion is not only controlling women, but to find a way to usurp Democracy itself. As Chris Hedges states in his article, “The Greatest Threat to Choice.”

The fight against abortion is the facade for a wider fight against the right of an individual in a democracy.

Contrary to the claims by anti-abortionist and Evangelicals of loving women, you cannot support anti-abortion laws without being a misogynist. The only people who want to control other humans are self-loathing, weak, and hateful. Making abortion illegal is giving the state control over women’s bodies and makes them slaves. In red states where Evangelicals have huge influence politically, it also makes women slaves to a form of religion that wants…
