As you state, clear and complete honest communication beats everything. If you do not have it along with trust, you actually have nothing anyway.

This does not mean men and women do not show love in different ways, but clear communication allows for someone to express their needs or issues or wish to have it expressed to them differently.

My spouse and I are complete opposites. Clear honest communication is why our relationships thrives. I would say childhood trauma and how a person relates to the world has more to do with failed friendships and relationships .
